Eat’n’Click is a prototype application that aims to automate the tracking of users’ nutrition habits. The app automatically tracks calorie information by scanning photographs of food. The DataArt platform can currently recognize over 100 foods with an 85% success rate.
The Eat’n’Click app utilizes various technologies, from visual food recognition and geo-positioning to semantic web, allowing it to automatically log information from users, such as the times of the day that food is consumed, geographic location and number of calories in the food. This program combines information from various technologies with advanced computer vision and image processing algorithms to seamlessly and holistically track nutrition.
